Description:
CAMH Phase 2 proposes to build on and expand their service delivery via TFC for individuals with a sexual interest in children and/or who are at-risk for engaging in child sexual abuse and do not have legal involvement. The evaluation results from Phase 1 of the project will be incorporated into Phase 2. The anonymous helpline will expand to offer services to bystanders and professionals in order to prevent child sexual abuse. The non-anonymous services will be expanded to additional provinces such as (Quebec, Nunavut and Yukon), will see the development and/or revision of an assessment and treatment manual, a refinement of the weekly self-report questionnaires and tools for pre and post-treatment change as well as the development of services for neurodiverse adults and family/friend support for individuals involved in the treatment program. A public awareness and public relations campaign will be enhanced throughout the contribution agreement period. Evaluation of all aspects of service delivery will continue to ensure the project is impacting risk-related factors for sexual offending.

Expected Results:
The creation, promotion and dissemination of educational or awareness materials/resources (public awareness campaign, therapy resources). Shared knowledge in the area of serious and organized crime leading to improved policy development and decision making (evaluation of the helpline), increased collaboration and partnerships with non-governmental organizations, experts and stakeholders (police, child protection and social services organizations). The long-term outcome of this project contributes to the Department’s Strategic Outcome, a safe and resilient Canada by enhancing efforts to combat serious and organized crime.
