This Project aims to build service and collaborative capacity to combat human trafficking through local partnerships in Peterborough Northumberland, City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton. KSAC will provide the following core services: 1) Human Trafficking Systems Navigation Management 2) Human Trafficking Clinical Counselling 3) Advocacy and Accompaniment Services and Coordination for survivors of Human Trafficking 4) Public Education and Prevention/ Community Engagement and Capacity Building

Expected Results:
  • Increased and improved capacity of KSAC as the only sexual assault Centre in the region to support and prevent cases of human trafficking.
  • Development of a local service navigation handbook with local as well as regional resources and connections to service navigation hubs in the region.
  • Best Practice clinical counselling and service navigation supports accessible to victims, at risk people, and families in Peterborough and across the four-county region.
  • Increased reporting of trafficking, increased services, and increased awareness and prevention education that will eventually contribute to lowering Incidents of trafficking in Peterborough area.
