This project is to help protect public safety on roadways in Canada by equipping law enforcement with the training, tools and technology necessary to enforce new and existing drug-impaired driving legislation, and to deter through research, public awareness and the development of evidence-based policies.

Expected Results:
it is expected that a minimum of 50% of NB’s approximately 1,055 frontline officers will be trained in SFST, and up to 62 will be DRE-certified. Short-term outcomes are: is to increase the number of frontline officers trained in SFST techniques to 50% of frontline police personnel and all Municipal/Regional Police Forces will have a minimum of one DRE with the larger centres having a minimum of five to seven DREs allowing for adequate coverage and resource sharing where appropriate.
