Agreement Value:
$46,800.00
Agreement Date:
Feb 3, 2024 - Dec 31, 2024
Description:
This project will fund a policing delivery model study conducted by MNP LLP, in turn it will produce a policing needs assessment and options analysis, which will determine a future policing model in the Mississauga First Nation. The First Nation community is interested in exploring either a self-administered police service, with several options including a stand-alone or regional service, or to receive police services from an existing police service.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:

The project will result in the development of a needs assessment and options analysist to determine the future policing model in Mississauga First Nation. The outcomes of this needs assessment will determine whether they wish to pursue a joint or individual self-administered police service, join an existing police service, or maintain their existing policing model, provide full costing to inform discussions with Ontario and Canada, should a self-administered police service be desired by Mississauga First Nation, and provide the information required to submit an application for a new self-administered police service, as set out in the Terms and Conditions for the First Nations and Inuit Policing Program (FNIPP), Long Term Outcomes. This project contributes to the potential transition
of a community of the OFNPA and into a policing model supported by the FNIPP Terms and Conditions. This Agreement supports the establishment policing services in First Nation and Inuit communities that are professional, dedicated and culturally responsive to
the communities they serve.
