Description:
The Government of Yukon and Public Safety Canada (PSC) will meet the Community Tripartite (CTA) communities in Yukon through two in-person engagement sessions. It is anticipated that 14 participants will join the event, including from current and past CCG leadership, members of First Nations Chief and Council, representatives from Yukon Government, the RCMP, and PSC. Topics to be discussed include: roles and responsibilities; terminology associated with Community Consultative Groups (CCG’s); communications; program updates and current FNIPP service delivery. Results of the session will be documented and will serve as a guide for ongoing and future discussions.

Expected Results:

The following outcomes from the sessions are anticipated:
- Updated understanding of current CTA provisions, roles and responsibilities;
- Established a CTA Focus Group with representatives from Yukon First Nation communities who will work together to discuss community needs and make resource decisions for consideration that will directly impact their communities; and,
- Re-established engagement and relationship with CTA communities and create a starting point for the CTA renewal process.

As a result of this project, First Nation communities in Yukon are expected to have improved access to dedicated and responsive police services.
