Description:
This project will provide funding to the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service to support building assessments for detachments, drawings for new detachments, gym equipment for the detachments and training centre, maintenance travel to remote and fly-in communities for contractors, as well as critical repairs to the following six (6) detachments: Fort Severn, Webequie, Wunnumin, Wahgoshig, Peawanuck, and Aroland.

Expected Results:
This project supports professional, dedicated, and culturally responsive policing services in First Nation and Inuit communities. Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officers will have greater access to essential provisions and adequate facilities necessary to perform their duties safely and effectively. Officers will be better equipped to respond to the increasing volume of calls for service and contribute to a sustained reduction of police reported crime over time.
