Agreement Value:
$516,000.00
Agreement Date:
Jul 26, 2024 - Mar 31, 2025
Description:
This project's goal is to replace a cube van ensuring rapid team deployment, and to provide mandatory training and certification to its members in Canada Task Force 3 (CANTF-3). Acquiring a new, larger vehicle will allow movement and storage of larger loads of equipment and provide a means of refrigeration capabilities for the team and the affected community. This refrigeration vehicle could be used as a temporary morgue under extreme conditions. The project will deliver communications, search, medical, logistics and planning training to the structural collapse team members.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project are to reduce response time and the carbon footprint with the larger replacement vehicle. The refrigeration capabilities of the new vehicle would be available for communities, other HUSAR teams or agencies. The training and certification will increase interoperability between HUSAR teams. This project will ensure that CAN-TF3 is effectively equipped and will maintain and obtain specific skills and maintenance training recognized across jurisdictions, enhancing its ability to respond to emergencies affecting urban centres in an efficient, effective and coordinated manner.
