Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcomes of this project will include better training, support and recruitment for qualified volunteers, as well as an improved volunteer management system, to ensure that they are ready for deployment during an emergency. Another outcome for this project is to increase the overall capacity for providing emergency lodging, food and other services during response. With this outcome, The Salvation Army will have increased readiness of supplies for its personnel. The project will also use a whole-of-community approach to develop, maintain, and improve preparedness, response and recovery for all-hazards.
The purpose of this amendment is to increase the agreement value from $10,246,459.08 to $10,376,939.08. This increase to the agreement's value will advance The Salvation Army's preparedness pilot that will support increased readiness and a greater range of civilian response capabilities to support activities during the 2024 event season.
The Supporting a Humanitarian Workforce to Respond to COVID-19 and Other Large-Scale Emergencies Program (“the Program”) is a contribution program that will provide funding to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) so that they may build capacity and deploy to respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies.
