Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcomes of this project will include increasing The Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada's ability to identify the resources needed to respond to emergencies and deploy these resources in an efficient manner. They will also develop guidance documents which outline the operational procedures in responding to large-scale emergencies across Canada within their organization, which will reflect the diverse needs and characteristics of communities. This project also aims to have responders ready for possible rapid deployment of personnel for the 2024 Wildfire Season. Overall, the project will use a whole of community approach to develop, maintain, and improve preparedness, response and recovery for all-hazards.
The purpose of this amendment is to increase the agreement value from $4,468,139.20 to $4,625,463.36. This increase to the agreement's value will advance The Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada's preparedness pilot that will support increased readiness and a greater range of civilian response capabilities to support activities during the 2024 event season.
The Supporting a Humanitarian Workforce to Respond to COVID-19 and Other Large-Scale Emergencies Program (“the Program”) is a contribution program that will provide funding to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) so that they may build capacity and deploy to respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies.
