Description:
This project will allow all Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers members the opportunity to apply their lived experiences to shape SAR policies, so that they can meaningfully and fully participate as volunteers. This will create governance frameworks and provide education that will prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion ensuring a set of new policies and practices designed to promote volunteer opportunities for all people interested in search and rescue.

Expected Results:
This project's outcome will help the Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers ensure that Data and research best practices are collected around governance with an equity, diversity and inclusion lens from within the Search and Rescue community in Canada, and other non-profit volunteer and business sectors. This will further their ability to train members at the local and provincial level on this new governance and create a more effective Search and Rescue response by promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive Search and Rescue community at all levels.
