Grants and Contributions:
Short-Term: The jurisdiction has the incremental security resources (i.e., assets, equipment, personnel) in place to support the RCMP-led security operations.
This outcome was achieved via OPS acquiring all necessary security resources to support security operations, including assets, equipment, and personnel.
Medium-Term: Early federal engagement with jurisdictions to advance cost-effective planning and procurement activities and enhance cooperation between the host jurisdiction and the federal government.
Early federal engagement engaged during the planning stages of the RCMP-led security operations and PS officials continue to work with OPS in advancing the contribution agreement.
Long-Term: Sound management of eligible incremental security costs incurred for a Major International Event.
This outcome will be achieved by reimbursing the City of Ottawa for eligible incremental security costs incurred for this event through a contribution agreement.
A reporting delay is normal for this program because expenses were still being tallied after the event and a Contribution Agreement to reimburse the recipient can only be entered once a source of funds is secured.
Contribution Program to reimburse host jurisdictions for extraordinary security costs in support of an RCMP-led security operation for a Prime Minister or Minister-led international event.
