This project supports professional, dedicated, and culturally responsive policing services in First Nation and Inuit Communities. This project will provide Rama Police Service, the OPP, and other police services in Ontario with added capacities to train officers, enabling them to respond to critical incidents. This facility will improve weapons-based scenario training for all officers, increase coordinated activities with youth, and increase fitness training, providing recruit-based testing facilities for Rama Police Service and other First Nation Police Services in Ontario.
Removal, demolition, and disposal of existing siding, remove contaminated and hazardous materials.
- Supply and install insulation wall panels, and insulated roof panels. Interior finishes, walls, and roof are in fair condition, though need repairs.
- Electrical allowances, miscellaneous labour, and building additions – addition of office and classroom space, electrical allowances in the gym, storage rooms for equipment, and change rooms for officers are needed.
- Supply and install HVAC units, windows, and exterior walls – the facility currently does not have any HVAC and plumbing. Doors and windows are in poor condition and require replacement.
- Construction supervision and project management.
- Architectural, mechanical, and electrical designs, including general building design.
- Occupancy.
- Final completion.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the agreement date to March 31, 2026, there is no change in Public Safety Canada funding.
