Description:

This project funds a policing needs assessment for Georgina Island First Nation. The report will provide the community with information regarding issues in community safety and policing resources, which will support them in taking steps to choose a culturally appropriate policing delivery model under FNIPP.

Funded policing services are responsive to the needs and cultures of the First Nation communities they serve - the immediate outcome of this project is the development of a policing needs assessment report that identifies policing safety challenges and required resources in the community. This project then provides guidance for the community to make informed decisions on how they want their policing delivery model to look, based on options available under the program.
