Grants and Contributions:
Indigenous communities will have access to dedicated and professional policing services; these policing services are responsive to the needs and cultures of the indigenous communities they serve and achieve a reduction of the gap between police reported crime in indigenous communities, and the rest of Canada.
- The Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) provides day-to-day policing services to the communities throughout southern, southwestern, and northern Manitoba identified within this agreement. A First Nation Safety Officer program will begin in the 2025-26 fiscal year in Brokenhead, Fisher River and Long Plain as a complement to MFNPS's policing operations in these communities.
