Description:
The Government of Yukon will provide funding to all eligible Community Tripartite Agreement (CTA) holders with funding to establish and maintain Community Consultative Groups (CCGs) boards. The outcome of the project is to have functioning CCG boards which will increase engagement between RCMP and communities and establish Letters of Expectations for the RCMP.

Expected Results:

A total of 13 First Nations in Yukon Territory have access to the funding to conduct CCG board activities.

  • First Nations in Yukon Territory with CTAs have access to the funding to assist with increasing participation in CCG board activities, including engaging with the RCMP, to ensure policing services are dedicated to each First Nation.

  • The RCMP will be responsive to the needs and cultures of Yukon First Nations through discussions and collaboration on establishing Letters of Expectations with CCG Boards; and,

  • strong relationships and trust between First Nation communities and the RCMP, as well as a reduction in the gap between police-reported crime amongst Yukon First Nations will be the result of increased collaboration and engagement between CCG boards and the RCMP on community policing needs.
