Grants and Contributions:
Approximately 300 Indigenous People have access to services provided through this funding agreement.
- TC Citizens will benefit from four full-time staff under this project (three CSOs and one Manager), all of which will provide dedicated, non-enforcement, community safety programs to the community
- TTC CSOs receive culturally appropriate training; and
- TTC CSOs participate meaningfully in cultural activities with TTC Citizens.
- Increased sense of community safety among TTC Citizens is experienced as a result of the presence, availability, and approach of TTC CSOs;
- CSOs will foster positive relationships with TTC Citizens based on trust and care;
- Assist Citizens in need to take them to safe space or refer them to family or other support services in the community;
- Support referral services to Citizens and community members in need and assist in getting supports from existing community resources for their wellness and safety;
- CSOs will report crime, crisis, or emergency to RCMP, Emergency Response and/or Safer Communities and Neighborhoods (SCAN) personnel as required, and ensure fair treatment;
- CSOs will identify problem areas/people of high incidents and high activity and compare statistics month to month and year to year.
