The project’s expected outcomes provide timelines to ensure MKO receives funding for the First Nations it supports through a feasibility study for a police service that is dedicated, responsive to the needs and cultures of the First Nations it serves, and that the Member Nations and its citizens living in the communities feel safe.
Completion of all Stage 1 through Stage 4 objectives and activities, aligned with the Manitoba Police Services Act and policing standards. Completion of Stage 1 to 4 will allow MKO to submit a future proposal to the funders for support of the next state objectives.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the agreement date to March 31, 2026, there is no change in Public Safety Canada funding.
To enhance the effectiveness of policing services in First Nation and Inuit communities in terms of cultural relevance and responsiveness to the public safety need of communities.
To support policing services to First Nation and Inuit communities that are professional, dedicated and culturally responsive to the communities they serve.
