Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) currently provides responsive and culturally relevant policing services to the communities of Birdtail Sioux, Canupawakpa Dakota, Long Plain/Keeshkeemaquah, Roseau River, Sandy Bay, Swan Lake, Waywayseecappo, Opaskwayak, and Brokenhead. The proposed funding is intended to cover the funeral expenses incurred due to the passing of the serving police chief of MFNPS.
