In order to meet the Program Outcome to "increase interoperability between HUSAR teams," this project will: engage in training, education, and exercise for USAR, Conduct Incident Command System training, and maintain high quality, dedicated cultural, equity, diversity, and trauma-informed response training to ensure CANTF2 is able to provide an effective and efficient response.
In order to meet the Program Outcome in which “HUSAR Task Forces are effectively equipped to respond to disasters,” this project will: replace and update cache and equipment for communication and technology infrastructure, replace and update search and rescue equipment, replace and update logistics support equipment, replace and update medical equipment and supplies to improve operational readiness and response, and undertake improvements to their training sites.
The purpose of this amendment is to increase the Public Safety Canada funding amount from $1,548,000.00 to $1,589,000.00.
The HUSAR Program aims to maintain the HUSAR capabilities of Canadian HUSAR Task Forces in Vancouver (British Columbia); Calgary (Alberta); the Province of Manitoba; and Toronto (Ontario). The Program also aims to develop HUSAR capacity and capability in the underserved regions of Montreal (Quebec) and Halifax (Nova Scotia).
