Description:
This project will conduct an assessment in five major Canadian cities with populations exceeding one million, focusing on people's comfort, safety, and access to public transportation services. The assessment will analyze the results based on three aspects: 1. Objective violations that impact the physical and/or psychological integrity of individuals; 2. The perceived experience of individuals regarding safety during their travels, linked to multiple personal and contextual factors; and 3. Damage to personal property.

Expected Results:

The outcome of this project is to enhance knowledge of safety issues in public transportation within Canada's five major cities, thereby improving the sense of security and confidence in using public transport. This project will also assist in consolidating approaches to prevent assaults on people and damage to the property of public transport users.
