Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcomes of this project are to share knowledge and raise awareness, leading to enhanced service delivery—such as disseminating information on Red Flag laws—increase public education and confidence in Canada's criminal justice, emergency management, and national security systems, and help build the capacity of voluntary organizations and communities to work with victims, offenders, families, and local officials. Ultimately, enhanced knowledge of Red Flag laws and procedures in Newfoundland and Labrador will help prevent firearm-related violence, especially in the context of intimate partner violence, contributing to a safer, more secure, and more resilient Canada.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
