Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcome of this project is to ensure that Canada Task Force 3 (CAN-TF3) remains properly equipped and trained to respond to emergencies and disasters affecting urban centres. By investing in modern equipment and nationally recognized training, CAN-TF3 will continue to meet the operational standards required for coordinated, timely, and effective disaster response. This investment ensures that CAN-TF3 is equipped with the necessary tools to support logistics and warehouse operations, contributing to reduced response times and improved operational efficiency for search and rescue activities.
The purpose of this amendment is to increase the Public Safety Canada funding amount from $516,000 to $611,800.
Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (HUSAR) is the most technically specialized form of USAR. HUSAR Task Forces are interdisciplinary teams comprised of specialists from across the emergency response spectrum. Capabilities include search and rescue, communications, logistics, emergency medical assistance, technical and canine search, and structural assessment. The HUSAR program supports Canada's Heavy Urban Search and Rescue capacity by strengthening the abilities of six urban search and rescue Task Forces across Canada.
