$200,000.00
Agreement Date:
Oct 2, 2025 - Mar 31, 2027
Description:
The project will develop three learning modules: in-person workshops, online modules, and a module designed for professionals and organizations, including those working with diverse groups. The project facilitator will deliver workshops regularly, either in person or virtually, to existing clients as well as community agencies, educational institutions, law enforcement, justice systems, Indigenous organizations, and similar stakeholders. Family Service Saskatoon Inc. will provide access to the project materials on its website, including links to webinars that will be available on an ongoing basis. This approach will not only amplify the message but also create a sustainable and accessible way to share information, further enhancing the project’s impact.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:

The immediate outcomes emphasize increasing public understanding of Canada’s public safety and emergency management systems, particularly around legal protections for victims of intimate partner violence (IPV) and the right to seek protective orders under Red Flag Laws. Intermediate outcomes include boosting public education and confidence in Canada’s criminal justice and emergency management systems by deepening understanding of Red Flag Laws and IPV risks. The project will also enhance community capacity to work with victims, offenders, families, and local officials by fostering collaboration with law enforcement and legal systems and providing tools to address IPV-related needs. The ultimate outcome is a safer, more secure, and resilient Canada. By increasing awareness of Red Flag Laws and empowering individuals to seek protective orders when necessary, the project aims to reduce risks for victims, perpetrators, and communities overall.
