Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on increasing public knowledge of Canada’s public safety systems by delivering educational workshops that explain existing legal protections for those at risk. It also aims to strengthen coordination among service providers to ensure accessible pathways to legal resources and improve interdisciplinary collaboration. Intermediate outcomes include building public confidence in Canada’s justice and emergency systems through workshops that mobilize knowledge of Red Flag laws and related protections. Training staff and creating new resources will enhance the capacity of national voluntary and not-for-profit organizations to support Indigenous women and their families. Ultimately, the project seeks to create a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by empowering Indigenous communities with knowledge of Red Flag laws and protections, reducing violence, and improving pathways to safety.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
