Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on increasing knowledge and understanding of Canada’s public safety systems by developing and distributing bilingual resources and training on Red Flag laws. These materials will provide clear guidance on risk identification and emergency intervention strategies for legal, gender-based violence (GBV), and community stakeholders. Intermediate outcomes include enhancing the capacity of national voluntary organizations and not-for-profits by offering sector-specific training, tools, and collaborative platforms that enable them to educate, advocate, and respond effectively to GBV and legal protection needs. Community capacity will also grow as legal, GBV, and rural education sectors receive tailored resources and training on Red Flag laws, fostering collaboration and improving support for victims, families, offenders, and frontline responders. Ultimately, the project aims to create a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by empowering communities, service providers, and legal professionals with the knowledge and tools to identify and respond effectively to gender-based and family violence.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
