Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on increasing knowledge and understanding of Canada’s public safety and emergency management systems by providing accessible information to the public and service providers about available protections for vulnerable individuals. Intermediate outcomes include improving public education and confidence in Canada’s justice and emergency systems by ensuring individuals know about and can access these protections. The project will also strengthen the capacity of not-for-profit organizations by providing plain-language resources that reduce barriers to justice and foster stronger community networks. Ultimately, the project aims to create a safer, more secure, and resilient Canada by equipping people with knowledge of the justice system and its protections, enabling effective access and building trust in its functionality.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
