Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on increasing knowledge and understanding within Canada’s public safety systems by providing culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and accessible resources on Red Flag laws, tailored to the needs of Indigenous women and informed by expert consultation. It also aims to foster shared knowledge and awareness by creating and widely distributing these resources to enhance service delivery and community engagement. Intermediate outcomes include strengthening the capacity of national voluntary organizations and not-for-profits by equipping them with expert-informed, accessible tools and training that support education, advocacy, and effective responses to gender-based violence and legal protection needs. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by empowering communities and service providers with the knowledge and resources needed to prevent harm and protect vulnerable individuals.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
