Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on strengthening collaboration and knowledge-sharing to improve public safety. It will bring together law enforcement, victim service agencies, shelters, the Manitoba Association for Women’s Shelters, the Joy Smith Foundation, and Manitoba Métis Federation departments to enhance programming and wraparound services. Information will be widely disseminated through social media, email, printed materials, and community events, with digital versions available to maximize reach. Intermediate outcomes include generating evidence-based recommendations to inform policy and legislative improvements based on survey data, community feedback, and frontline expertise. Public confidence in Canada’s justice and emergency systems will grow through plain-language tools that help participants engage meaningfully with workshop content. Ultimately, the project contributes to a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by uplifting marginalized communities, improving responses to gender-based violence, firearm threats, and mental health crises, and strengthening Canada’s public safety infrastructure through grassroots leadership.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
