Grants and Contributions:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing to strengthen campus and community safety. By co-developing trauma-informed, culturally relevant educational materials and launching the Red Flag Campus Toolkit, the initiative will create replicable models and best practices for post-secondary institutions across Alberta. Intermediate outcomes include building public confidence in Canada’s justice and emergency systems by educating students, staff, and faculty on Red Flag laws, protection orders, and intervention pathways. The project will also strengthen the capacity of partners such as the Sendero Centre for Counselling & Healing and Red Deer Polytechnic’s student support services through training resources, peer engagement models, and cross-sector strategies. Ultimately, the project aims to create a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by increasing legal literacy, early intervention capacity, and trauma-informed responses to risk.
The Policy Development Contribution Program (PDCP) provides contributions to forge greater consensus and cooperation among various levels of government and other stakeholders through policy initiatives and activities.
