Description:
The objective of this project is to increase awareness of resources available to individuals experiencing violence, including Red Flag laws. The initiative aims to break down the process for obtaining emergency prohibition orders or emergency limitations on access orders by providing clear, practical guidance. This will be achieved through community and staff workshops, social media campaigns, printed flyers, and a public service announcement (PSA).
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:
The project’s immediate outcomes focus on increasing knowledge and understanding of Canada’s public safety systems by delivering training on Red Flag laws through legal education workshops, capacity-building sessions, and a comprehensive communications plan. Intermediate outcomes include enhancing knowledge-sharing and service delivery by training YWCA and partner frontline employees to confidently inform victims and potential victims about Red Flag laws. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to a safer, more secure, and resilient Canadian society by equipping individuals and organizations with practical resources and knowledge to prevent violence and support those at risk.
