Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project are to increase awareness of hazardous materials and the health, fire, and environmental risks associated with them.
Having a thorough understanding of proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and its proper use, specifically as it relates towards emergency responders. Improve emergency response capabilities in the event of a hazardous chemical release. To improve Improved communication and coordination among hazmat responders, as well as allied agencies. Reduced risk of accidents, incidents, and injuries involving hazardous materials incidents. Leading to Reduced incidence of hazmat-related injuries and illnesses among emergency responders and the public, increased community preparedness and education for hazmat incidents, improved environmental and wildlife protection as well as pollution prevention, enhanced public trust and confidence in hazmat response capabilities by emergency responders.
