Grants and Contributions:
The objective of the contribution stream is to support non‑voluntary organizations (NVOs) in creating or expanding record suspension application support services. Through this project, Elizabeth Fry Manitoba (EFryMNS) aims to ensure that eligible women and gender‑diverse individuals obtain record suspensions in a timely, trauma‑informed, and supportive manner.
Expected outcomes include increased client knowledge of the record suspension process, improved access to application support, strengthened advocacy and navigation skills, and enhanced capacity for community reintegration. At the organizational and sector level, outcomes include increased capacity to support record suspension applicants, a higher number of successful applications, and improved data on systemic barriers to inform future service improvements.
By reducing barriers related to employment, housing, and stigma associated with criminal records, the project supports successful reintegration and contributes to reduced likelihood of reoffending, aligning with federal criminal justice and corrections objectives.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the agreement date to March 31, 2027 and to increase the Public Safety Canada funding amount from $1,200,000.00 to $1,310,000.00.
The Grants and Contributions Program to Voluntary Organizations (GCP VO) supports the development of public safety policies and delivery of services by providing funding to voluntary organizations to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses.
