Description:

With this funding, JHS Manitoba can further develop, enhance and administer support services for pardon application assistance. The scope of the support to be provided includes considering barriers faced by individuals with a criminal records, and the impact that record has on their ability to find work, a home, or otherwise find their place and purpose in their community. The project proposed by JHS Manitoba looks to address those barriers.

Expected Results:

Expected Results / Intended Outcomes
The contribution will support eligible recipients in creating or expanding application support services for individuals with criminal records seeking a record suspension. Through direct, consistent assistance, barriers to applying for a record suspension will be reduced, increasing the number of successful applications and supporting client reintegration into the community.

Immediate outcomes: Increased capacity of existing and newly hired staff to deliver record suspension application support to a growing number of clients.

Intermediate outcomes: Improved program effectiveness through ongoing evaluation and information sharing with other John Howard Society organizations.
Long‑term outcomes: Sustained delivery of record suspension services through the effective use of Public Safety funding, contributing to community safety and well‑being and expanding access to similar services within the community and across the John Howard Society network.
