Description:
The Regional Municipality of Peel (Peel Region) intends to provide funding to community non-profits to augment/modify existing community programs and initiative and build out new initiatives. The Region will evaluate and learn from these community programs to inform the development of a comprehensive plan to address youth gun and gang violence in Peel.

Identified municipalities and Indigenous communities have funding for prevention and intervention initiatives to address and respond to gun and gang violence.
- Funding for the expansion  and updating/refining  of community-based initiatives 

Medium-Term Outcomes:
Identified municipalities and Indigenous communities implement informed prevention and intervention initiatives to respond to gun and gang violence.
-Conduct research to gain a better understanding of youth gun and gang crime - specifically focus on where, who, how (the different platforms that are being used to recruit youth and if there are cultural differences in how they are recruited). Focus research on risk factors for gang involvement to inform the development of a comprehensive plan/strategy and sustainability plan.

Long-Term Outcomes:
Identified municipalities and Indigenous communities are equipped to address gun and gang violence through intervention and prevention initiatives.
- Based results and learning from the community investments, develop a youth gun and gang prevention and intervention strategy for Peel. Ensure sustainability planning included.
