Description:
The City of Barrie intends to develop a Bright Future Barrie Strategy that will be focused on youth, gun and gang prevention and intervention, community consultation sessions and work with local partners to develop a focused gun and gang violence prevention/intervention plan. The City of Barrie will work alongside local community partners to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors among participating high risk and vulnerable youth.

Some examples of short-term project outcomes include:
• Community organizations have funding for prevention initiatives to address and respond to gun and gang violence.

Medium-Term Outcomes:
• Identified municipalities and Indigenous communities implement informed prevention and intervention initiatives to respond to gun and gang violence. 

Some examples of medium-term project outcomes include:
• Under serviced communities have seen an increase in vulnerable youth being engaged in the community through the Youth Hubs.

Long-Term Outcomes:  
• Identified municipalities and Indigenous communities are equipped to address gun and gang violence through intervention and prevention initiatives.

Some examples of long-term project outcomes include:
• Bright Futures Barrie target populations are equipped to address gun and gang violence through city led programming and prevention initiatives
