Description:
The intent of this project is to address the Indigenous community's side of Section 84 plans and ensure they are equipped with vital information to assist them in developing, implementing, and sustaining reintegration plans in communities. Primary data will be collected through on-site visits, in-person & video interviews, and focus group discussions. The collation of information materials will be processed into a report and circulated amongst government, Indigenous Communities and stakeholders.

The project's expected outcomes are to develop reintegration support projects. Bishop’s University will reduce recidivism rates and improved well-being by developing a Relational and Cultural Protocol Guidebook to ensure respectful community engagement and community-specific cultural and research protocols.

Program Purpose:
The purpose of the contributions is to provide support to Aboriginal organizations (on and off-reserve), Aboriginal governments and municipalities in collaboration with Aboriginal organizations and or communities to develop tailored approaches to community safety, alternatives to incarceration and reintegration of Aboriginal offenders that are responsive to the concerns, priorities and unique circumstances of Aboriginal communities.
