Description:

The City of Langley will implement a three-year prevention/intervention plan alongside multi-sectoral community partners to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors among participating youth and their families vulnerable to involvement with gun and gang violence.

Expected Results:

Short-Term: The City of Langley will have funding for prevention and intervention initiatives to address and respond to gun and gang violence. Complete Call for Proposal and have the Action Table review/allocate funding to community organizations that seek to establish prevention and intervention initiatives that respond to gun and gang violence.

Medium-Term: The City of Langley will implement informed prevention and intervention initiatives to respond to gun and gang violence.

Through new partnerships with community organizations and service providers across multiple sectors, the City of Langley will coordinate the planning and delivery of prevention/intervention programs and activities to address identified risk factors.

Long-Term: The City of Langley will be equipped to address gun and gang violence through intervention and prevention initiatives.

A sustainability plan will be developed to ensure that the established prevention/intervention initiatives will continue beyond the expiration of this agreement.
