Grants and Contributions:
The anticipated impact of this project is a measurable improvement in the Township of Centre Wellington’s cybersecurity readiness, governance, and resilience. By conducting a structured Tabletop Exercise (TTX), the Township will strengthen its ability to respond to cyber incidents, protect critical infrastructure, and maintain continuity of public services.
The project will contribute to the knowledge and capabilities of several key user groups:
- Township staff: IT professionals, emergency managers, and municipal staff will gain hands-on experience in incident response protocols, escalation procedures, and cross-functional coordination. The exercise will clarify roles and responsibilities, improve decision-making under pressure, and highlight areas for improvement in current plans and systems.
- Township leadership: Senior municipal leaders will gain insight into the operational and strategic implications of cyber incidents. The exercise will inform policy development around cybersecurity governance, risk management, and resource allocation, supporting more informed and proactive decision-making.
- The general public: While not directly involved in the exercise, residents will benefit from improved municipal resilience and service continuity. The project demonstrates the Township’s commitment to safeguarding public data and infrastructure, which can enhance public trust and confidence in local government.
The program provides time-limited funding in the form of grants and contributions. Funding under the CSCP supports projects that contribute to security and prosperity in the digital age while positioning Canada as a global leader in cyber security.
