The project aims to raise awareness, promote prevention, and increase water safety in la MRC des Chenaux. This project includes the acquisition of specialized equipment, training for emergency responders, the implementation of aquatic response protocols, an awareness campaign, and a communication plan.

Expected Results:

Support and promote projects designed to develop and improve preventive search and rescue measures:
- The deployment of a public awareness campaign will help inform residents about potential risks through information dissemination, workshops, and the installation of informational signage;
- Fostering a culture of boating safety in which local residents naturally adopt safe boating practices.

Improve the effectiveness of search and rescue responses related to federal, provincial, and territorial jurisdictions:
- Enhance the skills of fire department personnel in responding to incidents in shoreline and waterfront environments;
- Acquire the equipment required for shoreline and waterfront emergency response operations in order to strengthen the operational capacity of fire services.

Share best practices in prevention and response across all sectors involved in search and rescue:
- Implement specific protocols aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of emergency response operations;
- Establish partnerships to support the ongoing exchange of information, resource sharing, and the dissemination of best practices.
