Grants and Contributions:
This project targets core criminogenic needs, employment instability, antisocial attitudes, substance-related coping, and challenges with impulse regulation shown by research to drive recidivism. Through the ETA program, job readiness training, trauma workshops, counselling, trauma/neuro-informed assessments, and legal consultation, participants strengthen emotional regulation, decision-making, and parole readiness. A coordinated, multidisciplinary approach addresses both basic and criminogenic needs, reduces institutional misconduct, supports conditional release, and promotes pro-social behaviour, contributing to safer reintegration and improved public safety outcomes.
The Grants and Contributions Program to Voluntary Organizations (GCP VO) supports the development of public safety policies and delivery of services by providing funding to voluntary organizations to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses.
