Description:
The Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI will work with the Elders in Atlantic CSC facilities to ensure that important cultural and spiritual guidance continues to be provided for adult Indigenous offenders upon release. Restorative approaches will be utilized to design and implement a reintegration model and training materials will be developed for dissemination to interested Indigenous communities.

The expected outcomes from the Indigenous Reintegration and Healing Program project includes Indigenous offenders have the necessary supports for successful reintegration; A supportive and understanding network of service providers is developed; All levels of government will have enhanced knowledge of restorative justice processes; and A promising practice model of reintegration has been developed.
