Description:
The Prince George Urban Aboriginal Society will undertake an offender reintegration project that bridges offenders from the Prince George Regional Correctional Facility to the local community by supporting offenders and ensuring they are involved in cultural ceremonies and pro-social programming. Upon release, offenders will work to meet conditions of release and access services and supports towards successful reintegration

The expected outcomes for project include: Provision of culturally appropriate in-custody support to Indigenous offenders; Provision of culturally appropriate community-based support to released Indigenous offenders; Development of two resource guides that focus on a) community-based supports and services; and b) cultural activities, ceremonies and groups for use by program staff or others working in support of Indigenous offenders; and Provision of culturally appropriate services and supports to the Indigenous Court in Prince George
