Description:
The Osoyoos Indian Band seeks to develop a project that provides direct engagement and support to offenders while incarcerated, as well as their families, through the provision of enhanced rehabilitative and reintegration services. Enhanced programming will include traditional knowledge acquisition, addressing Indigenous trauma while supporting clients and community to plan and provide reintegration opportunities, including employment and social services.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes from this project include: development of a culturally appropriate, community supported, reintegration project for Indigenous offenders; Enhanced knowledge and understanding for Indigenous offenders and their families, An increase in the number of Indigenous offenders that achieve successful reintegration; and The establishment of a best-practice model for reintegration planning.
