Grants and Contributions:
The final output from this project will be a HEC-RAS model of the study area, both flood inundation maps that can be used for emergency response planning (13 flood scenarios, from low to high) and flood hazard maps for the 100-year flood that can be used to help guide long-term development planning. Additional project outputs are a flood risk assessment and inventory that can be used to support future flood damage assessments and a general channel stability investigation along the study reach.

The purpose of NDMP is to effectively mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from, flood-related events foremost by building a body of knowledge on flood risks in Canada, and invest in foundational flood mitigation activities (e.g., Risk assessments, flood mapping, mitigation planning and investments in non-structural and small scale structure mitigation projects).
