Description:
The Nicola Valley Community Justice Services Society will hire an Indigenous Court Navigator to support Indigenous offenders in the successful completion of their healing plans through a case management approach, referrals, advocacy and peer support. An assessment will be completed in order to modify and/or expand services as experience is gained, through analysis of quantitative data and observable barriers.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes from the Nicola Valley Indigenous Court Navigator project include: improved services to Indigenous offenders through the development of an Indigenous Court Navigator position for the Nicola Valley Indigenous Court; completion of healing plans/probation orders for court participants, without re-involvement with the justice system; and a final evaluation containing analysis of the barriers Indigenous offenders face in completing their healing plans.
