Description:
The Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship Society (SOKFS) proposes to implement a community-based reintegration support program for Indigenous offenders coming from provincial or federal custody. The SOKFS will work with correctional center staff at the Edmonton Institution for Women, Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge, and Bowden and Drumheller Institutions in support of the development of release plans for Indigenous offenders.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes from the Lethbridge Indigenous Reintegration Project will include: increased cultural support for released offenders; increased community capacity and partnerships; improved health and wellness of offenders and the community; and enhanced sense of belonging for released offenders.
