Description:
The Waseskun Healing Centre (WHC) proposes to implement the Waseya Family Therapy program as a reintegration support project for Indigenous offenders, their families, and community workers. This project will complement their existing services as a community-run S. 81 healing lodge and better prepare offenders, families and communities for the offenders’ eventual return.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes from the Rebuilding the Circle – A Continuum of Caring project will include: enhanced culturally appropriate holistic services to offenders and the community through the creation and dissemination of promotional materials and information to a broad range of stakeholders; a report that documents the project’s development, implementation, activities, successes, evolution and challenges; the completion of 22 family therapy sessions for 66 families; the completion of 22 community support training sessions; and the completion of four annual colloquiums.
