Description:
The management and confidentiality of digital personal data is currently a critical issue across numerous industries nationwide. One of the complex areas for personal data confidentiality is the medical record of patients. The current methods and approach were neither capable nor compliant with the current software solutions and architectures available in the market. The “Centre hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke” has designed a software solution that maximizes the confidentiality of personal data while ensuring patient safety.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:
The expected results of this project are to have a solid business strategy to efficiently address the needs of the healthcare industry and to position their organization for additional use cases in the future. The legislation being written nationwide both on the federal and provincial level will require this type of solution since the current access control methods offered in electronic health records systems do not provide the granularity of managing all components of patients health records with different rules.
There are very important requirements in the healthcare industry and this is their first area of focus. With the digital transformation that is impacting all industries, they will be working on numerous other avenues to secure personal information and data exchange.
