Heavy Urban Search and Rescue
Program Purpose:
The HUSAR Program aims to maintain the HUSAR capabilities of Canadian HUSAR Task Forces in Vancouver (British Columbia); Calgary (Alberta); the Province of Manitoba; and Toronto (Ontario). The Program also aims to develop HUSAR capacity and capability in the underserved regions of Montreal (Quebec) and Halifax (Nova Scotia).
This program will:
•Support provinces and municipalities in obtaining the equipment and specialized training needed to sustain HUSAR capacity;
•Support investments in areas that will lead to timely and effective HUSAR response capabilities; and
•Support facilitating interoperability among the Task Forces.
