The expected outcomes of the Esgenoopetitj Wellness Initiative: Capacity Building project include: awareness of legal and human rights considerations of graduated consequences findings associated with research project. Determine feasibility to implement; increased awareness about drug and violence related issues for all community members; reduced selling of prescription drugs and abuse of methadone program; reduced rates of addictions; increased programming and levels of mental health supports for community members; rebuild positive relationships within community as well as RCMP and DFO; reduce degree of violence and trauma impacting the community; enhanced community readiness for future critical incidence response; increased levels of Elders, youth and community members feeling safe; strengthened community connectedness and community pride; increased capacity and readiness for programs and community personal to respond to safety and wellness challenges; and partnerships as a result of the FPT process.
Omitted from Q3. The purpose of this amendment is to increase the PS funding amount from $127,657.00 to $151,650.32.
The purpose of the contributions is to provide support to Aboriginal organizations (on and off-reserve), Aboriginal governments and municipalities in collaboration with Aboriginal organizations and or communities to develop tailored approaches to community safety, alternatives to incarceration and reintegration of Aboriginal offenders that are responsive to the concerns, priorities and unique circumstances of Aboriginal communities.
